Buffalo Bills Need to Step It Up

Call it the luck of the draw, the Buffalo Bills have had to overcome some tough opponents, and they couldn’t beat them all. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans proved a little too much in the last few weeks and understandably so.

The Bills were thrown in a crucible of experienced players who didn’t relent and forced the Bills to try and adapt quickly. It was good practice, but the team couldn’t quite live up to the pace set by the superior squads.

On the whole, Buffalo is looking at 24.9 points per game scored and 25.4 games per game allowed. Yet, this score may be a little diluted, because the team’s ability to score has been diluted by the tough draw against the Chiefs and the Titans.

While the Seahawks have been on a merry-go-round tour of scoring, the Bills have had to work very hard on defense, and they actually have allowed fewer points. As a result, the Bills are hoping to secure another win against the Seahawks.

They might just manage, as quarterback Josh Allen seems in a shape and has a 67.6% completion on 2,018 passing yards. Wide receiving Stefon Diggs is 603 receiving yards and that’s pretty decent, but the real start of the Bills’ defense is none other than Jordan Poyer who is the current safety with 58 tackles – ouch.

So, what can go wrong for the Bills? Very little it seems, although oddsmaker are still pulling quizzical faces when the game is brought up. They did wrap up a very close game against the Patriots in NFL Week 8, posting a sixth victory after winning a close against New England with 24-21.

Preparing for NFL Week 9, the Bills may see Mitch Morse miss it out as the player has suffered a fifth career concussion in the game earlier today.

Seattle Seahawks Play Fast and Loose

Seattle Seahawks have had the higher scoring so far, vastly outgunning the Bills. The Seahawks score an average of 33.8 points per game but similarly allows 28.7 points per game. So, which play style is more reliable?

Is it the hunker-down approach that Buffalo has been putting forth or rather the all-guns blazing one championed by the Seahawks? It’s hard to say. The Seahawks have definitely had far easier opponents to play with, but they have performed consistently well.

In fact, their game versus the Arizona Cardinals was just a 3-point difference in the end putting them very close to a near-perfect streak. The Seahawks have quite a few decent players, indeed. There is the quarterback Russel Wilson whose completion rate breaks the mental barrier of 70% with 71.2% and 1,890 passing yards.

The Bills will definitely have some trouble on their hands with linebacker Bobby Wagner sporting 63 tackles, a solid score. Next is Tyler Lockett, the wide receiver with 542 receiving yards and averaging 1.2 touchdowns per game.

As to running back Chris Carson he also does well with 323 rushing yards so far. The Hawks definitely have the stronger setup it would appear. The team activated both D.J. Reed and Colby Parkinson for their NFL Week 8 game.
